You are as strong as your belief system.Windy-American-Flag

Whether you like it or not, you have a belief system, just like the rest of us. We start out with this from birth, believing that our caretakers are safe or unsafe, believing that we need to keep walking after we fall for the fiftieth time. Of course, when we are young, we probably do not articulate this at all. As we get older, we define certain beliefs that are often broad, but we rarely get down to the details. This is where things get interesting.

Another thing we have no control over (from an ego perspective, our souls may do choosing beforehand) is who we become when we are born. We can shape this once we develop communication skills and a personality. Regardless of who we start as or end up being, we all seem to be exactly who we need to be. When we can accept this and own who we are, as well as the choices we make, life becomes much smoother and more enjoyable.

With these things in mind, we can choose exactly how our lives go. With the negative perspective that I have had for a good majority of my life, I was subconsciously wanting to believe that the world was against me, that I was useless and had no purpose. Through meeting certain people, traveling, several breathtaking as well as traumatic experiences, the past two years have flip-flopped, and I have realized a mission I could never have dreamed of.

Knowing what I know now, (and of course, I have plenty more to learn) I have begun the process of particularly defining everything I want to happen. This has proven to work in my own life, as well as those who I have learned it from. There is a catch though; whatever you decide to happen in your life, you have to believe in it wholeheartedly. This gets tricky, as it works for negatives as well as positives. That is why it is essential to define what you want to happen, as well as what your emotions are telling you about a given situation.

Overcome your fears and gain control of yourself.

As stated in the above paragraph, having the ability/skill to not only understand your emotions but also articulate them and pick up on what your body is telling you is vital. Whether it be fear or paranoia, a funny feeling about trusting someone you just met, falling in love, or listening to what someone close to you has to say, your body is always guiding you.Oriental-tower

In my opinion, the best way to deal with our emotions is to confront them in a posture of acceptance. It does no good to beat yourself up about how you feel; that only makes you feel twice as bad. Ask yourself questions, and wait patiently for the response. I have found it helpful to write what I am thinking and feeling down, (hence the nature of sharing them with you on this blog) as well as asking those I can confide in how they dealt with something, or what their thoughts are.

Yes, life is complicated, and we have little control over any of it. What we do have power over is ourselves, and life becomes more difficult if we try to resist what our bodies are communicating with us. It sucks to feel like shit, to be sad, to be angry, to get heartbroken. We all go through it; no one is an exception. What doesn’t suck is learning how to express how you feel as it happens, and hone your ability to understand yourself, as well as other emotions.

This is a lifetime of work, and while I have been told by a few people that I am fairly good at reading them as well as myself, I have a lot to learn and get things wrong too. Even when we know something, it is important to remain humble.

Plan out your life as specific as you wish.

Right now, you are taking the time to read this blog, and I assume that you are doing so out of curiosity, an avid interest, are serious about self-improvement, emotional/spiritual health, or something entirely different. I highly suggest you take 30 seconds to a minute and write out 3-5 things you wish to happen in your life. Dream as big as you want, seriously. If your dream doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough. As you think about these things you want, they will become more clearly defined. You are now on the path to your dream life.

Taking full control of who you are and what you want starts right now. If you are having trouble or would like to share what you’re thinking, feel free to leave a comment down below and we can chat about it. Your willpower is limited each day, so be careful where you share your energy. Ask yourself constantly if what you are doing right now is giving you the desired outcome and the future you want, or if it is a short-lived pleasure to distract you from responsibility.

That said, there is nothing wrong with what you are doing if you are happy and satisfied with where your life is. That statement was intended for those who complain, are missing something, want more out of life, etc. The whole point here is to hold yourself accountable and audit your actions. If you are someone who needs an accountability partner, I know quite a few. Feel free to reach out and ask!

When you are determined to continually grow, learn, and help others, you will not only get ahead of those who aren’t helping themselves; you’ll feel younger, refreshed, and have a sense of purpose. I truly believe that every single creature on this planet has something beneficial to offer the greater good, and it is one of my goals to help at least a hundred people fully actualize themselves, so that they may turn around and help others do the same.

With us all playing our roles in society, we can indeed bring about peace in humankind, solve most, if not all of our fundamental issues, and explore space together. Whatever you choose your life to be, realize that all of your decisions affect more than yourself. Choose for your future and that of others. Choose sustainability, decide to give back once your needs are met. I know you’ll do well, and I look forward to hearing about what it is you do.

If you’ve read this far, it seems like you enjoyed the article! I appreciate you taking the time! I would love to hear your thoughts, concerns, feelings, questions, and the like. How can I help and add value to your life? How can I make these better? What would like to read? Looking forward to hearing from you!
